I am so sorry for the lack of updates on Style Me Trendy lately, but I am currently in the progress of transferring over to my own domain so I will have my own blog link name!!! Very exciting. I was very nervous to make the transformation because of the costs and the difficulties of customizing my own site and whatnot, but I am moving along, and am hoping to have my new site up and running by the end of this weekend! I have been working very hard to get my website to be what I want it to be, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. Thank you to all of you for being so patient, and I will be sure to post a link to my new blog as soon as it is ready!!! Have a great weekend everyone 🙂
We all know her. We all love her. We all want her wardrobe. We DEFINITELY all wish we had her hair. Essentially, we all want to be her. Who am I referring to? None other than my all-time favorite TV character: Rachel Green from Friends.
As I continue to watch episodes of Friends to this day (actually, I watch it every night before bed), I realize that Rachel Green’s fashion is timeless. The outfits she wore on the show I would still consider rocking to this day, despite the fact that the show debuted almost 20 years ago, in 1994.
Rachel mastered the “professional chic” look for her dream-like jobs at Bloomingdale’s and Ralph Lauren, and being offered a job with Gucci in the series finale. Her weekend style looks were my personal favorite because she made them look so effortless yet classy and of-the-moment. What I found most impressive was that she managed to stay 100% stylish while she was pregnant as well.
Check out some of my favorite looks of hers below and my picks for how to rock a similar look.
Which look of Rachel Green’s is your favorite?
For this first look, I am simply obsessed with her bag. The color, the shape, the embroidered details. Simply gorgeous, and a perfect pop of color for a neutral outfit.

2. Elie Tahari, $328
3. Metro Park, $218
4. Sheinside.com, $77
This look is totally something I would wear, and the look is so effortless, yet the unbuttoned shirt shows her subtle sexiness.

The end of summer means back to school (it’s my last semester!), dropping temperatures, leaves changing colors, college football (Go Hawks!), and, most importantly, new fall fashion. In my opinion, the fall season is the best time of year to re-vamp your wardrobe because fall’s unpredictable weather behaviors (especially here in the northern Midwest) require you to have a wide assortment of pieces suitable for all weather and occasions. My favorite thing about fall fashion is that it is very cozy and comfortable, while also being couture.
While all of us might not necessarily be going “back-to-school,” per say, I have little doubt that every one doesn’t enjoy a few fashionable fall back-to-school inspired pieces, as well as an assortment of things I believe is essential for every college student, whether you’re just starting, or getting ready to enjoy your senior year.
What is (or was) your favorite thing(s) to shop for to get ready for school?

2. Studded Flats – Topshop, $56
3. Sunnies – Kate Spade, $128
4. Waffle Pleated Skirt – Topshop, $64
5. Striped Sweater – Jack Spade, $195
6. Blouse – Elizabeth & James, $122
7. Peace Leather Bracelet – Lucky Brand, $32

Ah, dress season. For those of us brave souls who are staked in the northern Midwest, this is a season that we TRULY embrace because we only get to enjoy it for roughly three months out of the year.
With this summer’s seemingly everlasting cruel and unusual heat punishment, it seems that a dress is the only logical (and bearable) wardrobe option since the infamous “birthday suit” ensemble becomes socially unacceptable after the age of 1.
A dress not only offers ventilation and air flow, but can be a comfortable and transitional garb worn from day to night without irritation or sweat overload.
It appears that designers picked up on the high demand for this heat wave must-have, as the variety of styles of dresses has blossomed into a beautifully diverse collection.
Choosing the right dress for a certain occasion (and finding one to flatter you in all the right places) can be challenging, frustrating and overwhelming. However, rest assured that there is a dress (most likely several dresses) out there for everyone.
Below is a collaboration of this summer’s most sought after dresses and how to style them:
